NATIONALIST Mr Nutt criticises local ‘complacent lazy councillors’ for allegedly failing “Bargoed as town and a place for shoppers and shopkeepers”, (Letters, 11th July).
While Mr Nutt acknowledges that local Labour councillors delivered the excellent Morrisons superstore for Bargoed, he fails to credit Caerphilly council’s investment of millions in Bargoed’s town centre and road infrastructure.
Mr Nutt complains that his town lacks a cinema like Blackwood’s. But he must know that the Blackwood Maxime cinema was opened as a result of private investment - so why blame councillors for the lack of entrepreneurship in his own town?
Of course, Mr Nutt was an unsuccessful Plaid Cymru candidate for Bargoed in last May’s council election. Sour grapes must have a very bitter taste.
