IT SEEMS that not a day goes by without renewed accusations of sexual harassment predominately committed on females by males in positions of power and influence.

What is perplexing to me is the strikingly similar accounts of the women alleging these attacks in the more high profile media reports that are; by in large; historical.

The fact that a great many of these incidents were not reported much earlier has; by default; contributed to the avalanche of other complainants who would more than likely have escaped subsequent attacks.

There is a reasonable argument to be made that by their silence they have put career advancement before their own welfare; allowing these miscreants to continue to abuse many more women unchallenged.

Sexual or physical abuse should never be condoned or tolerated and my sympathy will always be with the abused however, these women were not children and in my opinion should have reported these vile attacks to the police at the time.

We now have a situation that every flirtatious approach, comment or look will be scrutinised to tenth degree with the possibility that people could be open to career and life changing situations as a consequence.
