CAERPHILLY council offices in Pontllanfraith is now being demolished, where with a little common sense and thought applied by our councillors it could have been put to good use for the benefit of the community.

In the past couple of months I have had meetings with our MP Chris Evans, local councillors Mr Gez Kirby and Mr Mike Adams and I have also been in touch with the First Minister of Wales Carwyn Jones with proposals of using this building as a way to release the bed blocking that is being experienced by our local hospitals.

This building could have helped the homeless or as a night shelter for the less fortunate who are looking for somewhere to be cared for.

Recently, the First Minister made an appeal for the communities to come together and help the less fortunate and I believe this building would have been ideal in helping them.

I have come to the conclusion that we do not want a Labour council or a Conservative council, or a Plaid council, but what we could do with is a common sense party.
