THE Welsh Assembly’s Economy, Infrastructure and Skills Committee will look at the current condition of Welsh roads (Argus 26.3.18) in the next month.

Russell George A.M.Chairman of the committee admits that “Potholes and poorly maintained roads are a frustration (and dangerous?) for all of us and can seriously damage the Welsh Economy and society as a whole.”

Obviously, Newport City Labour Council is guilty of “poor maintenance”of our roads for a number of umpteen years.

A prime example is the school-run road in Bank Street, St Julians, which was poorly resurfaced 10 years ago and regularly breaks-up, with potholes accumulating and water gushing up through the road surface-partly repaired by the Welsh Water team recently.

Whatever happened to the “phantom” Jet Patcher Machine, obtained by Newport Labour Council approximately 10 years ago? - maybe sold to an efficient council faraway at a profit?
