IT WAS refreshing to see that Plaid Cymru leader, Leanne Wood, has the strength of character to follow her instincts and not be led by the majority of MPs who apparently support the Tories in pronouncing Russia ‘guilty’ before investigations have been completed (actually, before they were even started!).
The UK is respected practically the world over for its British law?
Under British, and international law as well, I believe, a suspect is deemed innocent until proven guilty and has a right to a fair trial.
No matter what your views are on Putin, it is our duty to ensure that the process of law is upheld.
The allegations could all be true, of course.
But shouldn’t we wait until the full investigations have been completed before we pass judgement?
I smell a rat, and this wouldn’t be the first time a government has lied to its people.
Remember Iraq?
With local elections coming up, the country in a mess, and the Tories trailing in the polls, it all seems a little too convenient for Theresa May to be granted this opportunity to grandstand and show what a ‘good leader’ she is.
