WE OFTEN criticise the NHS however, when we do this we can fail to recognise the dedicated teams from the initial response teams, to the nurses and doctors at A&E, and also the medical professionals who help and support patients in the wards for all the hard work they do on a day to day basis.
It is with great sadness that, during the Assembly’s Easter recess period my dearest wife Firdaus suffered a stroke.
But thanks to the quick response and treatment at the Royal Gwent Hospital (Newport) she has thankfully survived.
It will not be easy journey to full recovery but had it not been for their rapid response and treatment, she may not have been amongst us today.
I would like to offer my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the teams of doctors, nurses, specialists as well as the ambulance teams who were totally committed to her care and, the care of all other patients on the ward.
They all work tirelessly and with great dedication to their jobs. It is truly commendable.
I cannot express in words the amount of gratitude I have for what you all have done for us - so from the bottom of my heart thank you for saving my wife’s life.
