Create jobs to beat poverty

LABOUR’S shameful legacy is the latest report that one in three children live in poverty. What have the two lots of European funding been spent on? Sadly some of these children have parents who work. This is because Wales has the lowest paid workers, a situation that will only get worse if the Tories introduce regional pay structure for public sector workers.

Labour’s target to rid us of child poverty by 2020 will never be achieved, so say a lot of experts. This is just a promise, so people will keep voting for them.

If Wales is to get a third batch of European funding, I would use it to make every home in Wales energy efficient with loft and wall insulation, double glazing and solar panels. This would save thousands of pound in energy bills but provide thousands with jobs and apprenticeships.

If we scrapped that ridiculous welsh language then we could save 30 million per year and free up time in our schools to help us catch up with the English in educational standards but that would not suit the agenda of the welsh assembly government
