Revive cross country train

IT WAS good to read in the South Wales Argus recently, how, on several evenings, because of work on the railway, late trains on the Ebbw Vale service were diverted to and from Newport.

As an occasional user of the now defunct cross country train from Newport to Waterloo, I wonder whether this service could be revived, leaving early in the morning from Ebbw Vale and returning there late in the evening?

Travellers from Ebbw Vale would then have direct access to London, Bristol and other cities of the south of England, and travellers from Newport would then once more have access to a much-loved service.

This could be the start of a development, leading to the total restoration of the Newport to Ebbw Vale Service.
