WALT Jackson has always struck me as being rational and fair, but what he says about me is totally unjust. He states I “refuse to accept scientific explanations and evidence”.
Absolutely wrong. What I refuse to accept is the findings of much of modern science that refuses to look at evidence against evolution and submits unproven conjecture as truth and that is why there is a large body of scientists who deny evolution.
In 1948, the atheist surgeon, Sir Arthur Keith wrote: “Evolution is unproved and unprovable, but we choose to believe it because the only alternative, special creation is unthinkable.” The Nobel Prize-winner George Wald stated: “We choose to believe the impossible, that life arose spontaneously, by chance.”
Regarding the ‘opium’ of religion, last year the Argus published several letters stating that Bible prophecies come true. Recently I mentioned a lecture given by Professor Stephen Palmer on science and the Bible. This isn’t opium-taking, this is examining truth.
Einstein wrote, “The supreme error of stating that matter is self-creating (and ultimately self-destroying) and self-designing is that it is against all sense of logic and all sense of truth. The universe is reason personified.”
