THE volunteer group the Woody Workers and the Woodlands Field Ltd. Penygarn, would like to thank all who braved the weather at their Jubilee celebration and activity event community day on Tuesday, June 5.

With financial support from Gwirvol, Pontypool Community Council,Sports relief community cash, Communities First Trust Fund and monies they raised themselves there was plenty to do for the many children who braved the weather.

Local Band JCB provided musical backing in the marquee assisted by local disco guru Hopper.

Also on the field there was a popular rodeo horse competition which was won by somebody who managed 66 seconds before ejection.

In the log cabin the children were looked after by the Woody’s Workers who plated up some quality party food and refreshments.

There was also a bouncy castle and a children’s sumo wrestling competition organised by paid staff and Torfaen Sports development workers.
