Royal expenditure of the Queen is one for Taxpayers' Alliance

The Queen’s official expenditure increased by £200,000 (0.6 per cent) from £32.1million in 2010/11 to £32.3m in 2011/12, according to the royal public finances annual report.

I would have thought the right wing Tax Payers Alliance party would have jumped on this, or are they just happy to reveal elected members’ expenditure?

A shocking tax of 52p per person! OFF WITH THEIR HEADS! Viva the Cymric Democratic Socialist Republic!

Back in the real world, 52p is great value for money.

No suprise really. The misnamed Taxpayers Alliance are really a bunch of professional right-wing malcontents (mostly old) who don't want to pay a penny in tax but still want the services. Common name = Spongers.

Actually, I'm starting to change my mind on royalty as well. You have to admire a 84 year old woman who, after a lifetime of luxury, can sit on a gold throne wearing a hat worth millions at the opening of parliament and deliver a speech about the need for austerity whilst keeping a straight face!
