Road repairs such a mess

WHAT a mess they have made of the so-called repairs to our roads.

It’s now worse than ever. There are grey stones that haven’t been pressed into the tarmac flying everywhere, making a real mess on the pavements. People are carrying these loose stones into their homes and making a real mess everywhere. It must ruin car tyres; you can hear the grating of the tyres as cars go past.

I hope they come back and finish the job properly, but as usual it all falls on deaf ears and they are making Newport an even worse place to live in.

I take it you've never seen a road with surface dressing before? It is absolutely normal to have loose stones and over time they will be removed. You do remember what the pot-holed surface if Albert Avenue uses to look like don't you? Your hyperbolic statement that this somehow makes Newport an "even worse place to live in" is hilarious!

I have to agree with Owain, also the contractors did put a leaflet through the doors explaining how the job would be carried out and how any problems with tar/stones could be dealt with which was very helpful.
Not very helpful were a few residents who would not move cars so that the sweepers could clean the gutters of stones along with the long term parkers and visitors to Maindee.
Now we have a new surface lets have decent residents parking and traffic calming around the junction with maindee parade before there is a serious accident.

By the way, apologies for the misspellings in the first post. That's iPhone auto-correct for you!
