THE latest statement made by the WRU regarding Pontypool beggars belief.
Do they honestly think that the Welsh public believes that the reinstating of Carmarthen RFC and Bridgend RFC had anything to do with what they call “the balancing of Premiership clubs within the regions?” Scarlets, three teams; Dragons, three; Blues, two; Ospreys, four. Is that what they call balancing or is it something to do with financial pressure from certain persons down west? The WRU may have had the judge on their side but not the majority of fair-minded rugby followers.
