I read your report on Crumlin Navigation. I live in The Netherlands, but was brought up in the Sirhowy Valley.
I often pass Crumlin Navigation Colliery when I visit family in Blackwood. I have a fantasy plan for when I win the Euromillions Lottery. I want to give several million to completely restore the externals of this beautiful colliery to their former glory (hopefully in conjunction with Welsh Heritage and the Assembly). I want the internal spaces to be transformed into a centre for arts and crafts to serve the eastern Valleys with exhibition galleries, lecture theatre, rentable studios, pottery and sculpture workshops, classrooms for art lessons, cafeteria/restaurant with accommodation for a full-time caretaker and plenty of parking space. How does that sound?
