Stuck to the rules

NOT having been directly involved with the submission of a petition to name a proposed pedestrian bridge in Risca/Pontymister after my late husband, Cllr Keith Griffiths, I would, however, explain that upon receiving the request, officers of Caerphilly CBC, in order to fit to tight timescale to proceed, meant very little time was allowed to fill the petition, hence the number of signatures from supporters.

During his lifetime my husband did not seek accolades, and in consideration of other worthy local notaries, I am sure he would not have disagreed with council policy on the naming of structures/streets.

Cllr Phyl Griffiths, Cromwell Road, Risca
