THE big problem with the SDR is the roundabouts are too tight.
This causes cars to almost stop or change lanes and lorries to take a line that is dangerous as it can lead to the lorry cutting up cars. The problem is a design issue, with the entry and exit roads forcing traffic into the tight line. If the central reservations on entry/exit roads were wider, then the turn would be a lot softer and the chance of a capsize less. This would also increase the speed of the traffic using the roundabout(useful if the M4 is closed). Both my brother and I spotted this shortly after the SDR was opened.
