Are these gifts charitable

On page 7 of last Saturday’s Argus, another councillor made a generous donation. Is this money out of his own pocket or out of community charge funds?

The Community Charge was abolished years ago, but you are right to question the donation. It is quite wrong for individual councillors to be given spending authority over any amounts that soley benefit the areas they seek re-election in.
