JUST to bring readers up to date on potential computer scams, the latest is a begging e-mail from a poor gent in Libya.
Previously, I have received similar from Nigeria and Sierra Leone. All good stuff, eh! They contain exactly the same wording, but change the country and names to fit. Of late I have also received an e-mail about discrepancies with my account at Lloyds Bank and to log in to correct it. All codswallop, of course, as I have no account with Lloyds. Again, a similar e-mail was received regarding Barclays bank.
On the telephone, apart from PPI and windows, a regular customer is an Indian- sounding gent trying to convince me he is from Windows and there is a fault on my computer.
Watch out for these tricky little blighters!
