Mitchell row is waste of energy

I REALLY can’t believe how childish and, dare I say, pathetic this country is becoming. The alleged fracas between the Tory minister and police officers demonstrates that the nanny state has plummeted new depths.

The police officers, who were probably having a jobsworth day, clashed verbally with Andrew Mitchell who, rightly or wrongly, could not comprehend why he had to cycle through a side gate as opposed to the main gate which was inches away. Words were exchanged, end of story. The baying hordes looking for a public execution need to remove their heads from their trousers and take a look at the real world. Pleb, a name used to describe the common man, is probably the most ineffectual insult in the dictionary and something which has been in common usage for as long as I can remember.

What a chronic waste of energies when the country has so many critical issues it needs to address.

I could not disagree more. I think it is of public interest when a high ranking member of the government swears and insults police officers doing there duty. Shows what sort of person you are if you think this language/behaviour is acceptable. Thats part of whats wrong with this country. Standards let go!

Two coppers get shot for doing the job we ask them to do and you describe coppers a jobsworths!

You're a class act.

By the way, since you gave your full name and address, I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for the police if you get burgled anytime soon!
