Expenses questions

I REFER to the article in the Argus 24.9.12 “Gwent Councillors claim £4.5 million”.

I feel sure that the people of Blackwood and neighbouring wards will have been horrified to have read that five of the top ten highest paid councillors came from Caerphilly. The good news is that following May’s election, former councillors Allan Pritchard who claimed the most at £45,325.31 and Ron Davies and Colin Hobbs will not be making any more claims. As for their colleagues, Cllrs Mann and Gough, I feel sure that their constituents will be asking them some questions.

How much will you be claiming Cllr Dix? I am sure that your electors will be interested to see your expenses next year.

How much will Cllr Dix Claim? Answer his basic salary of £13k a year for being a councillor. Records show that Cllr Dix does not claim any extra income for food and travel etc. Can the same be said of the CAERPHILLY FIVE ? answer NO .

Be interesting to see what the Newport Socialists claim, it bound to be more than the previous administration as they have created 2 extra cabinet posts, can't see any benefit yet mind.
