Councillors not worth their pay

AFTER a lot of thought, I write to your paper to express my disgust about all the councillors and their expenses. I will repeat now what I have said in the past – no councillors are worth what they are paid. They need to live in the real world. If we tighten our belts any more, we will cut off our blood supply.

1.you shouldn't have to pay for democracy,
2.many cllrs are onbly in it for the cash not the people.

On the inside wrote:...and there's me thinking that Jan Reeds letter was actually about Councillors renumeration being over inflated for the work that they actually do. She didn't say that they should do the job for nothing. She is of course though, quite right, they are grossly over paid.
If you don't want to pay for democracy I suggest you move somewhere without any and see how you like that.
