Info, please, on Alec Forster CAN anyone help with any information about Pte Alec Forster, a member of the Non Combatant Corps who died on July 20,1943, and is buried at St Woolos cemetery?
The little research I have done on him shows that he was the son of Richard and Alice Forster, of Newport. He was, I think, a conscientious objector, but served as a bomb disposal officer attached to the Royal Engineers. However, it is believed that following bullying and a severe beating by members of another corps Alec died from the injuries he received.
