Freedom of speech at risk
1:51pm Thursday 11th October 2012 in Letters
PEOPLE of Wales, be careful what you say! Your freedom of speech is at risk. According to Mr Glyn Davies (Argus, October 2), if any Welsh citizen dares to voice an opinion of the Welsh language, then that Welsh citizen should be deported to England! Mr Davies felt deprived without the Welsh language in his early schooldays, but year on year the people of Wales have been deprived by the municipal and language enforcers with increased council tax every year, yet lessened (fortnightly) waste bin collections, road sweeping cutbacks, less policing on our residential streets, loss of playing fields.
Furthermore, energy and utilities firm EON (and others) has warned that its prices may rise in Wales as a result of the new Welsh language legislation which includes standards private companies will have to meet. Brian Donovan, Darlington Court, Newport

Only the other day EON stated that bills will have to go up more in Wales in order to provide Welsh
The Welsh language has little to do with Welsh culture in most parts onf Wales. In fact most WElsh culture has nothing todo with the Welsh language at all/

Obviously you are an authority on it (A) Not being a welsh speaker, and (B) No authority on welsh culture. The cost of EVERYTHING has gone up as for EON they put up the price every year, I do not recall they blamed bi-lingual translations then, or, the preceding 10 years either. No doubt they are trying to justify fleecing us all (Again). I am surprised you bought it.
