THE Abergavenny Ant Hill Mob have achieved the grand total of just under £3,000 with their Hadrian's Wall walk in the summer.
The team of Charles Thomas, Reinhold Labisch, Steve Hitchman and 11-year-old Tomos Hitchman walked 84 miles in just five days, from Newcastle to Bowness-on-Solway, Carlisle, losing a few toenails on the way.
They believed they had raised just under £2,500, but with extra donations just received by Charles Thomas, plus tax back from Gift Aid, the total has now reached £2,954.96. It has been given to the Prostate Cancer charity.
Said Charles: “We want to thank family and friends, our hosts in Newcastle, Ken and Judith Smith, and many local organisations and businesses from across the UK who not only raised funds for us but also awareness of prostate cancer.”
