A colorful and perfumed welcome greeted visitors to Chepstow Methodist Church’s 2008 flower festival, which was entitled, ‘Favorite Hymns’.

The displays were; ‘For the Fruits of His Creation’, (Pam Reynolds, Joyce Tanner, Chris Jones & Olive Jeans), ‘Morning has Broken’ , ‘The Day Thou Gavest Lord Has Ended’ (both by Ann Harris), ‘Abba Father’? (Margaret Harvey), ‘O Thou who Camest from Above’ (Evelyn Waters), ‘Shine, Jesus Shine’ (Margaret Smith & Olive Pace), ‘Tell me the Stories of Jesus’ (Margaret Harvey), ‘The Lord’s my Shepherd’ (Keith & Margaret Harvey), ‘Come On and Celebrate’ (Catherine Cooke), ‘Jesus The Lord Said I am the Bread’, ‘Love Divine All Loves Excelling’ (Jean Bolas), ‘Long Ago Prophets Knew’, ‘Go Tell It On The Mountain’ (both Ro Grant), ‘When I Survey The Wondrous Cross’ (Vera Mason), ‘One More Step Along the World I Go’ (Pat Haskew), ‘Breath On Me Breath of God’ (Lesley Kelly), ‘O Lord My God’, (June House), ‘Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory’, (Lesley Kelly) and ‘Now Thank We All Our God’ (Beryl Rees).

Donations towards the cost of the flowers used for the festival were given in loving memory of Fred Anderson, John & Blodwyn Carpenter, Denise Ellis, Derek Knight, Doris Lewis, Stan & Mary Martin, John Turner, Neil Blandford, Howard Draisey, Margaret Fleet, Jonathan Lester, Katie Lloyd-Roberts and Pam Sloman.

Special thanks are also extended to Tsunami Aquatics for the loan of the water feature used in the displays and everyone else who enabled the festival to take place.  All profits from this year’s festival will go to support the Triangle Project.
