Chepstow Rotary has a new man at the helm.  At the beginning of July 2008 Rotarian Ray Lee accepted the Presidency of the Rotary Club from outgoing President, Eddie Jones.

Ray thanked Eddie for his year as President, for his hard work and dedication to the club, for the successful projects that he has led, for the fellowship and fun that he has brought to the club and for being a good friend to all.

In his inaugural address he spoke of the challenging year ahead and said he looked forward to the support of the club to enable Rotary to assist in our community The International theme for the year is ‘Make Dreams Real’ and Dong Kurn Lee, the incoming President for Rotary International, has expressed a wish for all members to particularly focus on the world’s children. It is estimated that 30,000 children a day die of preventable diseases and he asks all members of Rotary to ‘Make Dreams Real’ for them.

Chepstow Rotarians are concentrating on the youth in their community and have many existing and new programmes and competitions planned. Amongst these are/will be the Youth Speaks Competition and Young Photographer. More details will appear in the press later this year.
