MANDY’S WALK: A charity dog walk held in memory of Amanda Bower has raised nearly £1,600 so far.
The walk was organised by her husband Steve, and daughters Charlotte and Sarah, to raise money for the St David’s Foundation, who cared for Mandy during her illness, and the PDSA. Heavy rain on the day failed to deter Mandy’s many friends and family from taking part, with some 70 people following the route around Chepstow Park woods.
Mandy often walked in these woods (including pushing her girls round in a double pushchair when they were younger) with Steve and, latterly, her much-loved dog, Willow.
She made many friends with those she met on her walks and they would always know the dogs’ names. Everyone said how much they enjoyed the walk, despite the rain, with several suggesting it becomes an annual event – which the family is considering.
Mandy’s family wish to thank all those who attended and travelled so far to get there, as well as the many individuals and businesses who gave donations.
