The students of Chepstow Drum School are celebrating after a good set of exam results over the summer.
The school is based at Hannah's Music shop Chepstow and has around 30 weekly drum students.
Drum teacher Noel Watson said, “There are a lot of talented drummers in the area. “I'm constantly surprised by what the younger pupils can achieve with the right help, whether it’s learning classic songs or exam material”.
Those successful on this occasion were: Rockschool Exam Board grade one Evan Hall (distinction), Joseph Wait (distinction). Grade two Stuart Lyndsay (merit). Grade three Sam Williams (merit), Tirion Colthart (pass). Grade five Lewis Oliva (merit), Morgan Foley (merit), Jack Morgan (pass) Trinity Guild Hall Exam Board grade one Toby Groves (distinction), Elgan Mathias (distinction), Oliver Postle (distinction), James Wood (Merit). Grade two James Calverley (distinction).
Noel has been a professional drummer since 1995 and has helped hundreds of students all over the country.
He also teaches at studios in Cardiff and Newport.
The school has recently welcomed a new drum teacher Christian Sondergaard, whose band Save Your Breath is touring with Kids in Glass Houses.
