CHILDREN at an Abergavenny primary school turned back the clock two decades last week when they dressed in ‘80s clothes for the day.
Years 5 and 6 at Ysgol Gymraeg y Fenni are studying the era in their history lessons, so staff arranged a special day and the children and staff dressed up.
Head teacher, Ann Bellis, did the same. She remembers the decade from when she was growing up.
She said: “The pupils did some artwork using Rubik’s cubes and staged a ten-minute musical performance which they will present at the Urdd national Eisteddfod next spring.
“We also enjoyed the company of some of the parents, who came along to talk about their experiences in the ‘80s, such as working in the city and becoming fans of pop groups like Culture Club and Duran Duran.”
The ‘80s day then finished with a disco.
