Choir Concerts: The Beaufort Male Choir took part in the 150th anniversary celebrations of St Ambrose’s Church in Kidderminster last week. They ran through their wide repertoire, including old favourites and new songs, before an appreciative audience in a full church.

Singing workshop

Village women

Village Women: This month’s Village Women meeting, on Tuesday, September 30, will take place in St Michael’s Church Llanvihangel. The usual venue, Pandy Village Hall, is unavailable owing to refurbishment work. The speaker at the meeting, which will begin at 2.30pm, will be Robert Davies. He will give a talk on ‘homemakers’ furniture recycling’.

Showcase

Showcase: Last Sunday afternoon, the Park Hotel at Pandy hosted Walterstone's car boot sale for Wateraid, raising nearly £200. The  hotel’s raffle prize of a £30 voucher for dinner for two was much appreciated. The colourful array of stalls ranged from clothes to books and bric-a-brac to plants. Undeterred by the weather, which had reduced the number of stalls, the event showed remarkable evidence of local talent.

Coffee morning

World’s Biggest Coffee Morning: Once again there will be local participation in this event to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support. Last year’s event was attended by over 70 people and raised £400.

Panto DVD

Pantomime DVD: The very successful adult pantomime of last spring Snow White – The Real Story & 30 years Later raised some £2,000 for Cwmyoy Hall.

Harvest services
