At the Pandy and Monnowside Ploughing Society's ox-roast at Llanvihangel Court a surprise presentation was made to Julia and David Johnson who had offered their home as the venue for the Society's fundraiser. To mark Julia and David's ruby wedding anniversary a cake was presented to them by Bill Phillips the Society's President and John Davies the Society's Chairman. The cake, topped by realistic sugar stargazer lilies, was made by Sian Lloyd one of the Society's supporters and was in appreciation of all that Julia and David do to support the Society.
The local farming community and friends who attended enjoyed their lunch at the house and strolling in the grounds on a sunny afternoon. Approximately £900 was raised which will be used to stage the annual Ploughing Match and to support local charities.
