Pandy resident Julian Winn was delighted after helping Nicole Cook, already a gold medal winner at the Beijing Olympics, win the Women’s World Road Race Championship.
Her world title was won in Varesi Italy and comes just over four weeks after the Beijing gold.
In a gruelling race Nicole timed her final effort to perfection to seal her victory in the last few yards.
Though team mates Sharon Laws and Emma Pooley finished 28th and 35th respectively, Nicole was quick to thank them for their part in her success.
Julian Winn has overseen the team’s training and preparations in an unforgettable year.
