These Llanthony Show Society annual competitions will take place on Saturday, November 22, starting at 9am. The hedging competition will be held at Llwyngwyn Farm Pantygelli by kind permission of Mike and Sian Lewis. Hedge training sessions will be held on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 at Llwyngwyn Farm and interested hedgers should contact Mark Egerton for training day details on 01873 890448, The walling competition, as usual on the same day as the hedging competition, will be held at The Gott Farm by kind permission of the Powell family.
Entries for the following classes should be confirmed with Colin Passmore (01873 890359) as soon as possible: l Open – Any style hedge l Open – Farmers hedge l Open – Farmers hedge – Novice. l Open – Farmers hedge – 18 years and under.
l Open – Dry stone wall Prizes for first, second and third place are £40, £30 and £20. On the day there will also be a photographic display of classes already judged.
If you have yet to attend these competitions, you should. They are held in some of the most beautiful parts of the county on crisp autumnal days.
