SHOP OPEN: The Skenfrith Community Shop opens on Good Friday. It will be open from about 12.30 till 6.00pm at weekends and Bank Holidays. More helpers would be welcome if anyone has some time to spare -have a word with Kath Hesketh. The shop is run entirely by volunteers and all profits at the end of the year are divided amongst local good causes. They usually have in stock plenty of home made cakes, also plants in season, bric-a-brac, jams, jellies and chutneys, Fair Trade items and crafts. So do try to visit the shop sometime over the Easter weekend.

CINEMA CLUB: Last Saturday the film shown in Skenfrith Village Hall was "On the Black Hill". It was well worth turning out on such a night of torrential rain to see such a beautiful film. It was a strange life up on the Black Hill and a moving story. It would have been worth watching had there been no story - the scenery was so beautiful. The next Film Night will be on April 5.
