Alfred Russel Wallace Day: Tickets are still available for this special day, which is being organised to celebrate the announcement, 150 years ago, of the theory of evolution by natural selection, developed simultaneously by Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace, who was born in Usk.
The event will run from 10.30am to 3.45 pm on Sunday, September 21, at Usk Sessions House.
With a photographic exhibition, talks by eminent authorities on Wallace’s scientific work, and his later contribution as an economic and social reformer, along with the launch of a new poem sequence by Anne Cluseynaar relating to the work of Wallace, this promises to be a fascinating day.
Tickets are £11 (including lunch) or £5 (including morning coffee) and are available from Anne on 01291 673797.
