Fifty members and guests of the Independent Order of the Foresters held their Annual Dinner Dance at the Glen yr Afon Hotel, Usk.
The food and service was, once again, excellent. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening with Alan Mortimer singing and playing.
A cheque was presented to Helen Lloyd for “Sparkle” bringing the total raised by Gwent Branch 214 in the past three years for this worthy local charity to £11,000.
A 40 prize tombola raised £178 for the Benevolent Fund. This year’s charity is the Noah’s Ark (Children’s Hospital) Appeal.
A number of fund raising events are planned including four collecting weekends at First Services, Magor.
