GREEN GYM NEWS: Following the recent visit of the Blaenau Gwent Green Gym to London, to receive their Green Hero Award from the Duke of Edinburgh, the group has taken the opportunity to mark the occasion with some of their partners in the community.

They had planned to plant a plum tree with pupils in the grounds of the Roseheyworth Millennium School, to record the occasion.

Unfortunately, the unseasonal weather meant the presentation had to be made in the classroom with Y3 class that the Green Gym has been working with all year.

Then, last week, the Green Gym made a presentation to the residents of Crawshay House, in the form of a bird bath, as a permanent reminder of all the work and time John Brown has given to the Green Gym, and to going to meet the Duke of Edinburgh.

The Green Gym then went on to assemble and erect the bird bath in the grounds of Crawshay House.

HOLIDAY CLUB: Local children are set for a week of fun and games with the Ebenezer Baptist Church holiday club!

Based on Scripture Union's Wastewatchers holiday club material, the week will be full of games, crafts, drama, music, video presentations and Bible stories as children learn about looking after the environment.
