THIS IS OUR LIFE: Llanyrafon Primary recently celebrated its 50th anniversary with celebrations in the school hall.
The staff and pupils organised an open day where they greeted visitors to the school and invited their guests to look at archive material which recorded the school's history and traditions.
The deputy mayor of Torfaen, Councillor Aneurin James, was among the guests, and together with the deputy mayoress, Maris James, met and talked with teachers, children and fellow guests on what was a very important day in the school's history.
