STREET pastors are needed to offer support and guidance to people on nights out in Blackwood town centre.
The volunteers will help to prevent people from hurting themselves, becoming victims or crime or taking part in anti-social behaviour on busy Friday and Saturday nights.
Volunteers must be over the age of 18, a church member and willing to commit to a training programme.
The Street Pastor Scheme was setup in Jamaica in 2001 as a Christian response to violent crime.
A meeting will be held on June 17 at Blackwood Methodist Church at 7.30pm for anyone interested in joining the scheme.
For more information call David Hatch on 07967 224167.
