Residents give £4,000 of help to muscular dystrophy cause
3:37pm Tuesday 16th June 2009 in News By South Wales Argus Newsdesk
FUNDRAISERS donated £4,000 to a muscular dystrophy charity.
Family and friends of Risca three-year-old Aaron Stephens, who was diagnosed with Duchenne's disease, which causes muscles to waste away, in June last year, helped organise two events in aid of Action Duchenne.
Last month they held an entertainment evening at Crumlin Rugby Club and in April more than 50 horse riders joined together to take part in a 12-mile sponsored trek over hills near Newbridge.
All money raised will go to Action Duchenne, a charity which supports research into the disease.
