Six Villages - Brynawel, Cwmfelinfach, Wattsville, Wyllie, Ynysddu and Gelli Groes.

Youth club: Youngsters can enjoy themselves at Cwmfelinfach's youth club.

The club meets twice a week - on Thursdays and Saturdays - and offers a range of activities varying from indoor games of pool and table tennis to computer sessions and outdoor football practice, which could help unearth a much-needed replacement for Ryan Giggs.

The club has been going for more than ten years.

It has proved so popular with some of its original members they have come back to work as youth leaders, helping to keep the club's spirit of fun alive.

The club is open throughout the summer months and its members all agree it is a great place to go.

Rock Climbing: Ynysddu Youth Club had an evening out at Bedlinog Climbing Centre with youth leaders Alun and Kirsty - Alun is a qualified climbing instructor so knew the ropes.

There were also instructors from the centre, so there was plenty of professional help.

It was the first time for all the youngsters, but they proved to be very good rock climbers and want to go again.

Funding for the adventure came from the Youth Grant Panel, which was applied for by the Friends of Ynysddu Youth for the club.

Thanks to help from Glenda Genner of GAVO for her support.

Wattsville Pavilion: The youth club on Thursday nights runs from 6pm to 8.30pm and is still going strong with the young people of Wattsville enjoying pool, table tennis, computer games.

They are lucky the Pavilion is surrounded by playing fields, when the weather permits they organise ball games outside.

The dance class and aerobics have finished and they are looking for professional instructors to start the classes again.

If anyone is interested please call Barry or Trish on 01495 272099.

Vandalism to School: It has been reported children are climbing onto Cwmfelinfach Primary School roof and causing damage.

Head teacher, Jayne Arthur said due to boys in the area climbing up and running along the roof we have had many leaks in school and repairs valued at thousands of pounds.

This damage must be repaired and paid for by the school and is money it would prefer to spend on a new carpet for the reception class, books or resources and it is a real disappointment to have to keep having the roof repaired.

The school is also concerned about the safety of the boys climbing on the roof.

The school has asked parents to talk to their children and any older children in the village.

So, Mums and Dads - do you know what your children are doing in the evening?

Please help stop this vandalism before more damage is done or someone is hurt.

Darts: Risca and Abercarn Ladies Darts League held its Finals Night at the Progressive Club, Ynysddu.

Amanda Probyn from the Progressive team came a good second in the singles to Susan George and then went on with Jeanette Lewis to win the ladies pairs.

The Progressive ladies were runners up in the team finals.

Brian Watkins said their team played exceptionally well and it was a brilliant night.

Gelli Groes: Siloh Chapel has been at the heart of Gelligroes and the surrounding area for almost two centuries, and it's still going strong.

In addition to Sunday Services there are a lot of mid week meetings.

The group holds a coffee afternoon on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month from 1.30pm to 3pm.

Everyone will be assured of a very warm welcome.

There's lots more happening at Siloh too.
