THE St David’s Foundation is holding an open evening tonight for runners to register for the first St David’s City of Newport Half- Marathon.
To celebrate the first half marathon to raise money solely for St David’s, the charity is holding the event so runners can register and preview the route.
Your Argus is the event’s media partner.
Taking place on March 3, 2013, the half-marathon will start and finish at Newport International Sports Village.
The race will follow a scenic route along the Riverfront path, past Newport’s iconic bridges and up to Newport Castle before heading out to Caerleon along the cycle path. The half marathon route is a fast and flat route and will be a great way to start off your running year. It will also be good training for anyone considering taking part in the London Marathon later in the year.
The open evening will take place between 5.30pm and 7pm at St.
David’s Foundation Hospice Care, Blackett Avenue, Malpas, Newport, NP20 6NH.
Registration is £22, and runners can also register and donate online at stdavidsfoundation.co.uk
