john.hall1000 - wake up and realise that the money spent on this (something that will never happen again in your lifetime) is 0.000001 of anything that the government need to budget for.

Running up a Newport road with a metal torch to celebrate the Greed of London is hardly a once in a lifetime event, sad really. Free publicity for a city that treats the rest of the country as bumpkins...

Is that rubbish video the best the Argus can do? some grainy mobile phone looking crap.

On a side note, Mr unhappy John Hall, the games were given to London in 2005. That was way before the bottom fell out of the economy so it's hardly there fault. The 9.3bn being spent on the games will also no doubt be helped by the boost to the economy of having the games itself here.

Instead of wasting 9.3bn on the games, spend it on things that matter like drugs for beating cancer

it is disgusting that this country can spend 9.3 bn on some clowns running round in circles , throwing pointy sticks , jump skip and hop. how many starter homes would that kind of money build for young familys, or help pensioners who are having their pension cut not to mention more people having to work longer because we have been robbed , money for childrens education , need i go on and on , wake up this farce was forced on you and yet you stand and wave your little flag , proud not to be one

Two things no use to Wales, The royal family and the Olympics, you think we would learn after the Ryder Cup debacle. There is NOTHING in these things for Wales, lots of free publicity for England and London.
