A NEWPORT landlord is selling a range of Ryder Cup-inspired beers in a bid to get local people to enter into the spirit of the tournament.
Visitors to The Golden Hart, on Cardiff Road, can sample the specially brewed American-themed ales called Tiger Would, Varsity and Royal Ryder, which will be available throughout the event.
Landlord Rod Hughes, 55, who took over the pub since October last year, said the beers which have been created by the Vale of Glamorgan beer Company and Marsdens, are already going down well with regulars.
“I was looking for something special to celebrate Newport having the Ryder Cup.
“They have been well accepted by everyone,” he added.
Mr Hughes said he will be watching the tournament with interest and the pub would show coverage until the contest ends of Sunday.
