CATHERINE Zeta-Jones last night said the Ryder Cup was great for Wales and praised the fantastic facilities at the Celtic Manor, as she arrived at the Welcome to Wales concert in Cardiff.
The Hollywood star, who is a keen golfer herself, confirmed she would be attending the Ryder Cup over the weekend, at the course she has played on before.
But the Swansea-born actress, who turned up at the event in a dazzling red ballgown, denied there were any split loyalties, despite being married to American actor Michael Douglas.
She said: "I’m supporting Europe."
The Chicago star described the Ryder Cup as "great for the country, great for the people and great for morale."
She also said her husband was holding up "very well" as he receives treatment for throat cancer.
Welsh rockers Lost Prophets, Katherine Jenkins and Britain’s Got Talent star Shaheem Jafargholi also arrived at the Millennium Stadium for the event last night, which Dame Shirley Bassey headlined.
