THE mood at Newport railway station was one of frustration as fans waited patiently for Ryder Cup officials to make a decision about the day's action.

At around 9.30am hundreds were shuttled onto coaches heading to the Hilton hotel.

Most fans arriving later waited inside before forming two orderly queues behind barriers.

A cheer erupted when they were allowed to head to several more buses parked outside.

Darren Ryemill, whose party left Bristol at 6.30am said organisers had made it an "unnecessary headache".
