THE SuperDragons 2 project is set to be one of the highlights in Newport this summer and your design could feature in the brand new SuperDragons 2 trail.

The Argus is giving one lucky reader the opportunity to see their design turned into a SuperDragon by a professional artist and form one of the five-foot-high sculptures in the trail.

The winner will receive a selection of prizes, including tickets to the Riverfront Theatre, an invitation to the launch of the SuperDragons 2 trail and a goody bag.

Five runners-up will also receive a SuperDragons 2 goody bags.

Thousands of people are expected to follow the trail in the summer and the fibreglass statues will be scattered right across Newport.

You can draw or paint your design on the template above and fill out your details or you can download an application form from www.newport.gov.uk/festival Remember, the audience that will view your dragon will be of all ages and designs and should therefore be appropriate for public display.

The Leader of Newport City Council, Matthew Evans, said: “The SuperDragons were a great success and there is tremendous excitement ahead of the launch of the new dragons this summer.

“Everyone is keen to see what this year’s designs will be like and they will create a fantastic trail of creativity across the city.

“I am sure readers will welcome the opportunity to get involved in the project and I look forward to seeing the designs we receive.”

Entries will be chosen by members of the SuperDragons 2 project team and the public will have the opportunity to vote for the final winner.

So get your paint, pens or crayons ready and get designing a new SuperDragon.

Closing date for entries is Monday, March 12 Rights / entitlements By entering the competition you confirm that, you are the original creator of your design, you have not copied anyone else’s work and that your design does not infringe on anyone else’s intellectual property rights to the extent anyone else has contributed to your design, you shall obtain a signed, written agreement from that person assigning all of their rights in their contribution to you.
