A TEENAGE pupil suffered severe bruising to his head after he was assaulted at his Newport school.
The 14-year-old St Joseph's RC High School pupil was taken by ambulance to the Royal Gwent Hospital following the incident in the school's bus bay around 9am on Tuesday morning. He was released later that day.
A fellow pupil, aged 15, was arrested on suspicion of assault before being released on bail pending further inquiries.
It is understood the incident was witnessed by a number of pupils and parents.
