TODAY, we reveal how much councillors from Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly received in expenses and allowances last year.
On Saturday, we reported that Gwent councillors received a total of more than £4.28 million in 2005/6 - a figure which is 8.6 percent up on the previous year.
Caerphilly council leader Harry Andrews came out top claiming the most in allowances and expenses at more than £44,700.
Today, our figures show that Blaenau Gwent council leader John Hopkins received more than £38,900 in allowances and expenses.
In total, Blaenau Gwent council members received more than £718,000, but they claimed the lowest amount in travel and subsistence expenses at just under £7,000.
Caerphilly councillors received more than £1.12 million. But the authority has 73 members - after the former Islwyn and Rhymney Valley merged at the last council re-election - a larger number than the other authorities.
