NEWPORT paid its own tribute to Sir Winston Churchill with a memorial service at St Woolos Cathedral which followed London’s act of homage.
600 worshippers including military representatives, businessmen and civic leaders paid their respects.
The Board of Trade estimated that in 1965 about 1310 new factory jobs should become available in Monmouthshire of those 690 for males and 620 for females.
